Therefore, a Taoist diet would consist mainly of unprocessed whole grains and fresh vegetables, with occasional small servings of lean meats such as fish and poultry. This is because meat is associated with yang energy and can create an imbalance when eaten in large quantities. However, the traditional Taoist diet emphasizes balance and moderation, meaning that it is recommended to consume only small amounts of meat on occasion. Taoists are not strictly prohibited from eating meat. By adopting this way of eating we are choosing to live harmoniously with our environment while promoting our own well-being at the same time. Ultimately, following a Taoist vegetarian diet is abut more than just physical health or religious beliefs it’s about living in harmony with nature and all sentient beings on earth. Eating a plant-based diet is not only beneficial for our own health but also for the planet’s wellbeing as well. By avoiding animal products, we are choosing not to support industries which may involve cruel practices or environmental degradation. In addition to helping promote yin-yang balance, a vegetarian diet can also provide significant health benefits. Eating a vegetarian diet helps to maintain harmony by avoiding overconsumption of animal products. According to this philosophy, consuming too much meat can create an imbalance between yin (the feminine energy) and yang (the masculine energy). This means that everthing in life exists in pairs of opposites - such as light and dark, hot and cold - which must be kept in balance for optimal health. But both vegetarian and vegan should at least have 2 things to choose from.At the heart of Taoism is the concept of yin-yang balance. I did love so many of the vegan appetizers though, totally some of my favorites. I think there are going to be quite a few vegetarians pointing out the big different between the two. I admire those that can stick to totally vegan, but I will never be that person. I eat eggs, dairy (milk, butter, cream.and all the cheese!) They don't seem to realize vegetarians want that protein-and they also eat things made with all those things, such as most pasta, cakes, pastries, ice cream, puddings-that vegans do not eat. Someone clearly doesn't understand that there's a huge difference. The really bizarre thing is that they took away anything vegetarian and replaced it with just that one, single vegan option. Does anyone know of any other way of communicating the disappointment in this? I am booked next December as well, and hoping this is still subject to change! In addition, there was usually an Indian dish that was vegan available. At that time, the vegan menu was available every night, which usually offered 2 apps, a soup, 2 mains, and a dessert option.
